Why Am I Running for School Board?

This is where my wife and I have chosen to raise our kids. I feel a responsibility to give back, to do my part to make it the happiest and healthiest environment possible for every resident. 

"Different is good." This is a common phrase around our house. The world is a better place when all viewpoints are known, respected and discussed.

Nearly all kids (heck, most adults!) struggle with a sense of self. The most important thing parents and teachers can do is instill security, belief and confidence in children and teenagers, most notably those who may feel neglected, bullied or disrespected by society in general.

This is an exceptional town in which to raise a family. I will strive to continue our schools’ tradition of excellence by supporting our teachers to excel professionally. I’ll also ensure that ALL students have access to the same opportunities and resources in our classrooms.

It affects all kids of all ages in all kinds of different ways. I will work with teachers and administrators to make sure extreme attention is paid to the mental well-being of all students -- from finding early solutions to burgeoning issues... to diagnosing these issues... to finding the best assistance available once the issues have been established.

I will work with whomever I can to make sure no guns find their way into our schools or anywhere near our schools.

I trust our teachers to know what's best for their students. I trust parents to stay involved in their children's lives. I trust administrators to be open and honest with the community, keeping lines of communication open at all times.
